Defence for Children International is a movement working for the promotion and protection of children’s human rights.
Using the Convention on the Rights of the Child as its guiding principle, DCI takes a rights-based approach to its work, understanding children as rights-holders and active partners and participants.
While juvenile justice is the movement’s priority at the international level, DCI national sections are engaged with a wide range of child rights issues – from child labour, to violence against children, to the challenges faced by migrant and asylum-seeking children and their families.
