Girl Power: lessons learnt

From 2011-2015, DCI national sections in the Netherlands, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Ghana were involved in the international Girl Power Programme.

The report “Empowering girls: learning what works” provides a complete look back at the various activities and initiatives of the project and their impact.

From 2016-2020, the mentioned DCI national sections, together with DCI-IS, will be involved in the new Girls Advocacy Alliance (GAA) program that aims to promote equal rights and opportunities for girls and young women in 10 countries spread accross Africa and Asia. The desired impact of the program is to ensure that girls and young women are free from all forms of gender-based violence (GBV) and are economically empowered.
