From 19-20 May, UNICEF Argentina and the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary General on Violence against Children will hold an international seminar on how to improve the monitoring of the conditions of children deprived of liberty.

The objective of the Seminar is to better the situation at the regional level and international experiences when it comes to monitoring places where children are deprived of their liberty.

On Friday 20 May, Juan Fumeiro, representative of DCI-Uruguay and vice-president of the DCI Movement in the Americas, will present the practical guide on the monitoring of places in which children are deprived of liberty, which was launched by DCI-Belgium in February 2016.

On the same day, Norberto Liwski, of DCI-Argentina, will talk about the need for integration of a child-rights perspective in public policies.
