Defence for Children International welcomes the adoption of the Global Compact on Refugees and the Global Compact on Migration. As a member of the Initiative for Child Rights in the Global Compacts, we co-signed the following statements:
- Final Statement on the Global Compact for Refugees by the Initiative (EN)
- Statement by the Initiative at the High Commissioner Dialogue: “Protection and assistance in urban settings and engaging with cities”(EN)
- Statement by the Initiative at the High Commissioner Dialogue Side Event: “Risk and resilience in the city: Engaging and protecting refugee children and youth in urban areas” (EN)
- Statement by the Initiative in the Global Compact on Refugees and the role of cities and municipalities (EN)
We look forward to working with our partners to see concrete implementation of the Compacts and the protection of children’s rights in the context of migration.
