Defence for Children International (DCI) is proud to share the 2025-2026 Annual Report.
Our latest Annual Report highlights the work of DCI and our National Sections over the past year, including advancing justice for children, protecting children deprived of liberty, addressing violence against children, supporting children and families facing displacement, and responding to the impact of armed conflict. It also reflects DCI’s collective advocacy and efforts to strengthen child safeguarding, meaningful child participation, and gender equality.
This year’s report reflects on a period marked by unprecedented global challenges, including record levels of grave violations against children in armed conflict. Despite these challenges, the DCI Movement strengthened its work across four continents, reaffirming its commitment to advancing justice for children everywhere.
Key highlights include:
- The expansion and strengthening of Socio-Legal Defence Centres (SLDCs), helping to ensure access to justice and protection for children in conflict with the law.
- The continued growth of child participation, both in programmes and through child and youth advisory groups, empowering children and young people to become advocates for change.
- A renewed focus on children affected by armed conflict, including through continued advocacy for stronger international protection.
