Fields of Intervention:

DCI-Guinea was created in Guinea in order to promote and defend children’s rights. Therefore, several actions are undertaken in the following priority issues:

  • Juvenile Justice
  • Trafficking, abuse, and exploitation of children
  • Female genital mutilation (FGM)
  • Capacity building and awareness raising concerning child rights

Current Activities and Projects/Programmes:

In recent years, DCI-Guinea has carried out inter alia the following projects:

  • Prevention of Exploitation, Violence and Abuse

DCI-Guinea organised 6 meetings with representatives of national child institutions, 9 trainings with representatives of regional bureaus for social affairs and members of the association of youth workers of Guinea. The workshops were attended by a total of 189 people, out of which 24 were children. The participants learned about child protection policies in Guinea, and communication techniques to improve the protection of children. 852 vulnerable migrant children benefited from DCI-Guinea’s identification, orientation, and housing services, as well as the programme to find families for them, reintegrate them, and monitor their reintegration. 11,133 children and 8,000 adults participated in awareness-raising sessions organised to promote the participation of children in the protection of vulnerable migrant children.
