France will be reviewed by the Committee on the Rights of the Child in September 2015. With the aim of submitting an alternative report for this occasion, DCI-France took the initiative of launching the project «Acting Together for the Rights of the Child» at the beginning of this year. The project brought together 35 civil society organisations. Members will work together for the period 2013-2015 to achieve an inventory on the situation of children in France and to propose measures to better protect their rights. The arising report will facilitate the Committee’s redaction of observations and recommendations and will help them to be as most relevant as possible. Members organised an event called «It is time to renew dialogue (…) on the rights of the child!» on November 21st in Paris to discuss this theme.
Throughout the project, participation of children and dialogue with the State will be sought.
It is the first time that French organisations cooperate to prepare a report collectively, which makes this project innovative.
