DCI at the 60th Session of the UN Human Rights Council

DCI actively participated in the 60th Session of the UN Human Rights Council, delivering impactful statements across several agenda items. DCI called for stronger global action to protect children affected by armed conflict, highlighting urgent needs for accountability, reintegration, and child-centred recovery measures. The organisation also condemned ongoing violations against Palestinian children and urged the regular updating of the UN database of business enterprises involved in Israeli settlements to end corporate complicity.
Further, DCI addressed grave violations against children in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, pressing for urgent investment in child protection mechanisms and justice for victims. Representing the NGO Panel on Children Deprived of Liberty, DCI emphasised the global overuse of pre-trial detention for children and advocated for the implementation of the Roadmap for Action on Children Deprived of Liberty (2025–2030).
