20 years of Juvenile Justice in Costa Rica

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Law on Juvenile Justice in Costa Rica, DCI-Costa Rica displays its various activities that contributed to the improvement of the juvenile justice system.

DCI-Costa Rica particularly highlights the defence of the right to privacy of children in contact with the law and the investigation process regarding the execution of sanctions, while also providing insights on numbers and indicators on children involved with the justice system in Costa Rica (through DCI’s Regional Observatory on Juvenile Justice) and on the lessons learnt from the “Clic a la esperenza” project, which was realized with adolescents deprived of liberty in the Zurquí detention centre.
